Statement of Need/Program Overview
This conference educates physicians in a new sub-specialty of forensic medicine.
Physicians attending this conference have an interest in learning this new branch of forensic medicine. Physicians will be able to consult to attorneys in the pre-litigation/pre-trial phase of a legal case after this 2-day learning experience.


Educational Objectives
After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

  • Establish a forensic medical practice and have systems in place to assure high quality practice standards.
  • Interact with the legal community including attorneys, judges and paralegal assistants.
  • Have the medical knowledge of common pre-litigation/pre-trial forensic issues, injuries and common medical problems encountered.
  • Be able to write excellent forensic medical reports.
  • Have a better understanding of the legal issues involved in this kind of consulting and understand the workings of attorney offices and the areas of law involved.
  • Have a better command of legal nomenclature
  • Understand how this kind of consulting improves our legal system and assists injured individuals in their recovery.
  • Communicate with the legal community and have improved interpersonal skills.
